15/03/2016 Today I started production on my project. I intended to just photograph my first model Jeremy, but due to it not taking as long as expected to photograph him, I got my second model Ashleigh photographed too- which I was really pleased about! Here are some of the photographs taken by my friend Abbie: So far, I'm really happy with how the photos turned out. I'm feeling really positive about the project, as I was worried it would take too long to photograph people and apply the makeup, but now I know that I can get two people done within 2 hours, I think that on my next shooting day, if I can find more models, then I can have more sets of photos. My only concern with having more models is the price of printing the images. I suppose I can print them off on the printer in the library and then laminate them, but this will still be quite a long process. I may just make videos of some of the photographs if I can't get them all printed, and then I will post them on various social media platforms. I know for definite though that I will be printing off at least 3 sets of photographs. Ideally, I would have liked to have had them printed really large, but I simply can't afford it, but they should look quite good even if they are just A4 sized. Below are the actual photos I took today. I will begin editing the first two sets of photos in Photoshop on Thursday. I was planning to get all the photos and then do the Photoshop, but it makes more sense to edit them as I go along, as this will make better use of my time. I also don't know how long it will take to edit them, so I'd rather have them edited too soon, rather than too late. Jeremy AshleighI'm happy with how these photos look, but they seem to be lacking some dimension which I am certain I can achieve by touching them up in Photoshop. Things I will touch up in Photoshop are things such as making the colouring of the bruising more vibrant.
Here is a timetable I made using the website smartsheet.com, all the dates are rough at the moment until I get the studio booked and things.
QR Codesqr code one:This QR code video will be very simple, it will be the four/five images from the collection morphing into one another, so that you can see the bruises appearing on the person in a time lapse sort of way. While these visuals are playing, I want to have statistics about domestic abuse being spoken. This will either be of the male or the female, it will depend on how much time I have after I've taken photos and things. QR Code twoThis one will be more visual, I want to have visuals of a person sitting rigid in a chair, while a clock ticks in the background. There will be sounds of a heartbeat and of their breath. I want the video to build up. There will be shots of the house where the people are living with broken glass and such. Then it will switch back to the person who was sat in the chair bolt towards a hiding place. The following shots will just be closeups of the persons face, followed by the sound of a car pulling into the drive, the door slamming, the front door opening... I then want the video to cut to black, and then flash back to the person but with their partners hand around their mouth and their eyes wide with fear. QR Code Three:This one will be similar to the first one in the sense that there will be something being morphed. I want to have the actor/actress stand and have the camera spin around them, so that each time the camera passes their face, they appear more bruised up and upset. I thought that this might look interesting, and would also be quite challenging. I could have someone telling their story as an overlay with sound effects in the background to help make it more impacting. I was inspired to do this after viewing a trailer for the TV show The Walking Dead: |
